South High

The name is synonymous with the arts. For years, South has been training young artists who share a passion for creating. Whether it’s choreographing a new piece, discovering the fluidity of watercolor, or interpreting a Broadway ballad, the students at South relish the challenge of a new monologue and celebrate the camaraderie of a marching band performance.

South’s commitment to the visual and performing arts has led to performances and partnerships with a number of arts organizations and performing groups, allowing our students to explore the variety of careers available in the arts while they develop their craft and hone their skills with exemplary professionals.

These opportunities have fostered enormous growth in our programs and as a result, we are out of space! We can no longer provide opportunities for the number of students wanting to participate in our programs.

Thanks to the leadership of Thompson H. Rogers and Michael Yanney, South has embarked on a capital campaign to raise $15 million for a new arts center, which will allow for the continued growth of our exceptional programs in both visual and performing arts.
